All versions of the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze comes standard with a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, pushing out 153 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque.
Hop up to the ritzier Cruze LS and the price creeps up to $18,995 with the manual transmission. Add a six-speed automatic gearbox to the LS, and the price jumps to $19,995. The upper-midrange LT automatic begins at $21,995, while the top-tier 2016 Chevrolet Cruze Premier, which comes standard with the automatic transmission, comes in at $23,995. That’s a fair bit cheaper than Honda’s most expensive Civic sedan, the $26,885 Touring model.
The all-new 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was introduced earlier this year and is longer than its predecessor, with more rear legroom, yet its new platform helps the car drop about 250 pounds. After the Cruze launches with the aforementioned 1.4-liter gasoline engine, in 2017 Chevrolet plans to launch a Cruze diesel with even higher fuel-economy numbers. The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze goes on sale in spring 2016.
