Shown here with much less camouflage than in previous spy photos, the new Camaro ZL1 looks to sets itself apart from the SS with aggressive visual modifications, including a larger rear wing, widened side rocker panels and fenders, and a wider intake on the front grille.

This whole family sharing program bodes well for this upcoming ZL1, as we have a more powerful supercharged powertrain to work with. If the past formula is anything to go by, the new ZL1 will most likely see a variant of the supercharged LT4 found under the hood of both the new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V and the wicked 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. In CTS-V trim, the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 puts out an astounding 640 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque, a sizeable and realistic bump for the upcoming ZL1.

The new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will likely make its official debut at the 2016 Detroit auto show. Until then, take a look at the next top-of-the-line Camaro still under wraps in the photo gallery below.
