More involved than the Camaro Red Line that was revealed last week, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS Red Accent and Black Accent concepts headed to this year’s SEMA show provide an early look at some of the accessories and add-ons Chevy will sell for its newest musclecar.
The Red Accent and Black Accent concepts are designed to highlight how a customer could customize his or her 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS with official dealer-issued components. Chevy says that it will offer more factory-baked performance parts and accessories for this new sixth-gen Camaro than ever before.
The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertible Red Accent concept (above) begins with red lower grille inserts, red “hash mark” fender decals, blacked-out Chevy bowtie badges, and gloss-black 20-inch wheels with a red lip stripe. Beneath the sheetmetal, the car’s 6.2-liter V-8 engine scores a red engine cover and a new air intake, while the chassis benefits from upgraded Brembo front brakes and a lowered suspension. Within the cabin, look for red aluminum door-panel accents, as well as sport pedals and various new SS logos.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS Black Accent concept, meanwhile, is pitched as a “tuner” take on the new coupe. The car gains visual updates like a new aerodynamics kit with a splitter and new side skirts, dark-tinted taillights, satin-black stripes, blacked-out bowtie emblems, and a black fuel-filler door. As to performance, the 6.2-liter V-8 scores a new air intake and red-painted engine cover, while the chassis gains a performance lowering suspension and Brembo front brakes. Interior upgrades include Jet Black leather upholstery, a suede-trimmed center console lid with red stitching, and sport pedals.
