2016 Hyundai Genesis, Azera Add Standard Equipment, Higher Prices

Both the 2016 Hyundai Genesis and 2016 Azera will receive more standard equipment, particularly for upper trims levels. Along with these additions are slight bumps in starting price for both models, with the 2016 Hyundai Azera starting at $34,995 and the 2016 Hyundai Genesis starting at $39,645 including destination fees.

The 2016 Hyundai Azera is still offered in two trim levels. The base model receives no changes aside from a mild $100 price increase, while the decked-out Azera Limited sees its price go up $1,100 to $40,195. It’s not unwarranted though, as the Azera Limited adds adaptive cruise control and an electronic parking brake to its long list of safety and convenience features.

2016 Hyundai Azera Side

All versions of the 2016 Hyundai Genesis add standard HID headlights with daytime running lights, while LED foglamps become available for 3.8-liter V-6 models as part of the Signature package. The lighting package helps account for the added $750 to both rear- and all-wheel-drive versions of the Genesis 3.8, which now total $39,645 and $42,145, respectively.

Pricing for the 2016 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 rises $2,350 to $54,745, as the once-optional Ultimate package (adaptive suspension, 9.2-inch screen with navigation, 17-speaker sound system, power trunklid) becomes standard. It makes sense for Hyundai to make the Ultimate package standard for the 2016 Genesis, given that most people who pony up more than $50,000 for a value-oriented luxury sedan want every option available. We’re still partial to the Genesis 3.8 though, as are 90 percent of Genesis buyers, owing to its smooth V-6 and available all-wheel drive.
