The mid-priced EX model gets a very slight price increase of $550, bumping it up to $25,715 including destination. The EX still comes with the same naturally aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine as the base LX.
The SX trim, which used the 2.4-liter engine, has been eliminated for the 2016 Kia Optima. The next step up is this the SX Turbo, which packs a 245-hp punch from the 2.0-liter turbo four, and comes in at $30,515. The 2.0-liter turbo-four loses 27 hp for 2016, but gains better fuel economy and improved low-end torque. The engine now provides 260 lb-ft from 1,350-4,500 rpm, whereas the 2015 model produced 269 lb-ft from 1,650 rpm.
At the top of the 2016 Kia Optima spectrum, the Optima Limited has been renamed the SXL, and stickers in at $36,615, a boost of $290 over the outgoing model. Check back next week for our first drive review of the refreshed Kia Optima.
