On the newest episode of Ignition, host Jason Cammisa gets behind the wheel of the wild 2016 Range Rover Sport SVR.
The performance of this rocket Range matches the earsplitting soundtrack, with Motor Trend cracking off 60 behind the wheel of the behemoth in a shocking 4.3 seconds, hustling its way to a top speed of an electronically limited 160 mph.
Tested and tuned around the Nurburgring, the SVR clocked in a tremendously impressive lap time of just 8 minutes and 14 seconds, ten seconds off-pace from the Alfa Romeo 4C sports car.
To put this ridiculous notion into practice, Cammisa lined up the beefed-up British bruiser next to Randy Pobst behind the wheel of a featherweight Alfa 4C, and carved their way around the Streets of Willow Springs raceway. While the Range has the muscle to power away from the Alfa in the straights, the result in the corners is quite predictable, with Cammisa finding the tires and bulk to be less-than-ideal for track day duty.
After the back-and-forth between the Alfa and Range comes to an end, Pobst sets off around the track in the SUV, setting a hot lap time. To find out what the most powerful and quickest Range is able to do, take a look at the video below.
