Every part of the Mulsanne forward of the A-pillar has been redesigned, starting with a wider stainless-steel grille and new, adaptive LED headlights. At first glance, the car doesn’t appear wildly different than before, with the same imposing, squared-off shapes and proportions as the outgoing Mulsanne. But there are subtle updates all through the car, including reshaped fenders, new front and rear fascias, a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, redesigned switchgear and armrests, and available Android tablet computers for rear-seat passengers.

Speaking of whom, the 2017 Bentley Mulsanne’s new Extended Wheelbase model sees the luxury sedan’s wheelbase grow by 9.8 inches, all of which goes to improve rear-seat legroom (as if that were at a premium in the regular Mulsanne.) The two rear seats have airplane-like power adjustments allowing occupants to sit upright or reclined. Between the two seats, a special console features USB ports, cupholders, and pen holders, as well as a concealed storage area. A large rear sunroof and electrically operated curtains over the rear windows are standard, and passengers can opt for power-deployable tray tables in case they want to get some work done while on the move.
