The XT5 range starts with the base, front-wheel drive crossover, which comes standard with the XT5’s only engine choice, a 310-hp, 3.6-liter V-6, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Stepping up to the XT5 Luxury trim level, at $45,890, adds more equipment and also affords the option of the XT5’s $2,495 all-wheel drive system. The XT5 Premium Luxury starts at $52,890 with front-wheel drive, or $55,385 with AWD.

Cadillac has not yet released full information on the XT5’s standard and optional features, but we do know that Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities will be standard, with other features like a heads-up display, LED, headlights, and a full suite of active safety features available on the higher trim levels.
This pricing strategy puts the XT5 right in the hunt with the German competition. The 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC and 2016 BMW X3 are a bit cheaper than the Caddy, at $39,875 and $39,875 to start, respectively, while the 2016 Audi Q5, which comes standard with all-wheel drive, starts at $41,825.
