Lincoln’s updated 2017 MKZ will sticker from just shy of $36,000 when it goes on sale soon, but that number can climb quickly with the wide range of optional equipment the automaker offers on its entry-level sedan.
The $35,935 base price is for a 2.0-liter turbocharged MKZ with front-wheel drive or an MKZ Hybrid. Opt for all-wheel drive for the turbo model—it’s not available on the hybrid—and the price climbs by $1,890.
The big newsmaker for 2017, aside from the MKZ’s son-of-Continental styling, is the available 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. Opting for that range-topping engine pushes the price of entry to $40,435 for a front-wheel-drive car, and $43,575 for all-wheel drive. That engine is rated at 400 horsepower with all-wheel drive but is detuned to 350 ponies for the front-drive model.
Depending on the engine and drive wheels, a wide array of trim levels are on offer beginning with the base Premiere and climbing to Select and, finally, range-topping Reserve. All told, an MKZ can sticker for as high as $61,415 should you feel hedonistic and decide to tick every single option on an MKZ Reserve with the V-6 and all-wheel drive.
It’s also worth noting that, according to Lincoln’s website, the automaker is offering a $1,000 rebate on the MKZ before it is even on dealer lots.
