Jaguar is out testing an updated version of its F-Type sports car and we spotted one of the prototypes running at the Nürburgring. Among the updates will be a tweaked front end, LED headlights, and possibly a turbocharged 4-cylinder as the new base option.

Another 911 making headlines this week is the new racing variant to succeed the current RSR. It’s set to compete next year in events like the World Endurance Championship and United Sportscar Championship, and we hear it might feature a mid-engine layout—a revolutionary change for the rear-engined 911.

One of the biggest headlines this week was news regarding what’s likely to be a prototype for a new Camaro Z/28. Chevrolet is yet to confirm whether the prototype is for a new Z/28, but judging from the modifications it points to a track-focused model of some sort. Unfortunately, the car had a little mishap while testing on the Nürburgring.
There are two leading firms racing to be the first to demonstrate a working Hyperloop system. This week, one of the firms, Hyperloop One, successfully completed its first full-scale test. The company is hopeful of having a fully operational system ready by 2021.

There were plenty of spy shots this week. Another biggie was a prototype for the next-generation A8. The new flagship sedan has been confirmed for launch next year and looks to feature a design that’s clearly reminiscent of Audi’s series of handsome Prologue concepts.
Another new Audi we saw this week was the R8 V10 Plus Selection 24h. Inspired by the automaker’s Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance racer, just 24 of these beauties will be built and sadly none of them are coming to the United States.
Teaser for new concept thought to preview upcoming Volvo XC40
Volvo released a teaser for a new concept that previews its upcoming XC40. The XC40 is a compact crossover due on the market next year but the concept version will be revealed very soon, possibly as early as next week.
