The 2016 SEMA show is just around the corner and Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] is shaping up to be one of the biggest brands at the tuning mecca. Models like the Mustang, F-150 and in recent years the Fiesta and Focus have proven perennial favorites in their respective segments, and it looks like 2016 will be no different.
In the lead up to this year’s show, which runs from November 1-4, Ford has previewed some of the custom F-150s that will be on its stand. The highlight will be a sinister-looking F-150 SuperCrew from Hulst Customs. The tuner, located in Merlin, Oregon, has dropped a supercharged version of Ford’s 5.0-liter V-8 into the engine bay of the truck. Thanks to the supercharged V-8, a high-flow exhaust and a host of other mods, the truck is now rocking 750 horsepower. So it also looks the part, Hulst added lowered suspension, 26-inch wheels, and a Katzkin leather interior.
For those that prefer the great outdoors, the truck from A.R.E. Accessories is probably more to your tastes. It features one of the company’s useful CX Series caps, which is fully automated to make it easy to access the tray. Power in this model comes from the F-150’s stock twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6, but there are intake and exhaust systems from Corsa to help the engine breathe a little easier.
Another off-roader is the F-150 SuperCrew from Bojix Design. It’s also running the F-150’s twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 but the stock turbos have been replaced by a more potent set from BorgWarner. The vehicle also sports high-performance intake, exhaust and intercooler systems. For going off-road, the design team added a 7.0-inch lift kit, Fox Racing coilover shocks, 22-in Grid Off-Road wheels and 37-in Nitto tires.
The last truck Ford has detailed is a BMX-themed F-150 Lariat SuperCrew that’s been modified for speed and agility. It also runs a supercharged 5.0-liter V-8, along with a cat-back exhaust system, FabTech suspension, 20-in Grid Off-Road wheels and 37-in General tires. Among the accessories fitted to the vehicle are a pair of Ssquared Bicycles bike frames and a handful of GoPro cameras.
