Chevrolet Red Line, Spark RS Concepts Headed to SEMA

The last time we heard about a “Red Line” product from GM, the name was applied to performance versions of the now-defunct Saturn Ion and Saturn Vue. Chevrolet is now hoping that you’ve forgotten about those Saturns as it rolls out a new lineup of Red Line trim packages for the Chevrolet Camaro, Malibu, Trax, Colorado, and Silverado models for the upcoming SEMA show.

For all of these models, the Red Line package is essentially an assortment of visual trim changes that incorporate red and black exterior accents for a slightly more sinister look. Each car is painted in Silver Metallic and has blacked-out trim for the window surrounds, the wheels, the mirror caps, the headlights and taillights, and the roof. Bright red accents adorn the wheels, the grille, and the badge. Some models also come with other Chevrolet accessories, such as the Red Line Camaro’s lowering kit, the Red Line Colorado’s GearOn bike rack, and the Red Line Malibu’s ski and snowboard mounts.

These Red Line vehicles are only intended to be concepts for the SEMA show, but Chevrolet is strongly considering putting the packages into production if it gets good feedback from consumers.

Also present at the SEMA show will be a sportier concept version of the new 2016 Chevrolet Spark that wears an RS designation. Chevrolet wants to see what kind of reaction this package gets from the public to see if it might want to put it into production. Like the RS packages for the Sonic, Cruze, and Camaro, the Chevrolet Spark RS wears a body kit, larger alloy wheels, and a lowered suspension. There’s even a carbon-fiber front splitter up front, and the whole thing is finished in Dark Liquid Switchblade Silver.
