Infiniti's 400 hp Q50 Red Sport 400 priced from $48,885

Infiniti has finally revealed the price buyers will have to pay for 400 horsepower: $48,885 for its new Q50 Red Sport 400.

Snow belt buyers will probably want to pony up for the $50,885 Q50 Red Sport 400 AWD. The standard Q50 Red Sport 400 delivers its power exclusively to the rear wheels.

The high-performance twin-turbo Red Sport 400 tops the Q50 lineup, which begins at $33,885 for the entry-level Q50 2.0t.

In addition to adding 192 horsepower over the 2.0t, the Red Sport 400 brings with it niceties like sport-oriented styling, performance brakes, a Digital Dynamic Suspension, leather trim, and staggered 19-inch tires.

Red Sport 400s come well equipped, but those looking for even more can add options like Direct Adaptive Steering ($1,000), a Technology package with a host of radar-based features ($1,850), a luxury-lined Premium Plus package ($2,250), and a few more goodies to wind up with a loaded Q50 just shy of $60,000.

We recently drove the Q50 Red Sport 400 and found that it fairly easily overcomes the grip of its Dunlap SP Sport Maxx 050 summer tires.

Those looking for something in between will want to look for the 300 horsepower version of the Red Sport, which has not yet been priced. While it shares its V-6 with the Q50 Red Sport 400, the standard Red Sport sees its turbos boosted at 8.7 psi, while the 400 bumps that up to 14.7 psi.
