Subaru BRZ, WRX STI Series.HyperBlue Models Priced

Remember those insanely cool Series.HyperBlue Subarus unveiled a little while back? Well, get your deposit checks ready, because Subaru has released pricing information for this limited edition series.
For the Subaru WRX STI Series.HyperBlue model, which is limited to just 700 units, prices begin at $39,790, including destination. For this, you get the fantastic exterior color, along with black 18-inch BBS wheels. On the inside, the steering wheel, seats, shift boot, and center console all have unique Hyper Blue stitching. Special “cherry-red” STI logos are featured prominently on the carpeted floormats. Exterior badging and the mirrors are also black. The package also comes standard with Subaru’s new Starlink infotainment system, as well as an upgraded Harmon/Kardon sound system and push-button start.

The powertrain remains untouched, with the STI powered by a 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-four engine pushing out a hefty 305 hp, sent to all four wheels through a slick six-speed manual transmission.

The $39,790 2016 Subaru WRX STI Series.HyperBlue slots right between the $35,490 base model and the $40,790 Limited model, with a difference of $4,300 and $1,000, respectively.

The 2016 Subaru BRZ Series.HyperBlue stickers in at $28,485, including destination. The same color scheme extends over the exterior of the BRZ, with sublime Hyper Blue paint contrasting against black wheels, black external badging, and black-capped mirrors.

Move to the interior, and the same Hyper Blue stitching is present on the seats, shift boot, and steering wheel. The Hyper Blue extends to the door inserts and kneepads, along with a silver BRZ logo embroidered on the headrests of the two seats. Peer down into the footwells, and you will notice both the embroidered BRZ badge and Hyper Blue stitching continues to the carpeted floormats. The BRZ Series.HyperBlue comes standard with Starlink infotainment system.

Like the STI, the powertrain is untouched, with a 2.0-liter flat-four engine pushing out 200 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque.

The $28,485 2016 Subaru BRZ Series.HyperBlue comes in $2,295 above the the $26,190 base Premium BRZ equipped with a manual transmission, and just $295 over the top-spec BRZ Limited with a manual transmission.
