2017 Jaguar F-Type Base Price Drops by $2,700-$3,600

Jaguar is putting a big emphasis on aggressive pricing and value going forward, and even the gorgeous F-Type sports car will take part in this strategy. The 2017 Jaguar F-Type will offer new entry-level trims for both the coupe and the convertible that slash the cars’ starting prices by $3,600 and $2,700, respectively.
Both the 2017 Jaguar F-Type coupe, which starts at $62,395, and the convertible, which starts at $66,395, come standard with a 340-hp, 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Jaguar hasn’t skimped on standard features, either, as even these base models come standard with a Meridian sound system, navigation, and leather seats. Further options like a panoramic sunroof, heated seats, and a backup camera will be included in an optional Premium package, and adding the eight-speed automatic transmission will also cost extra.

These lower prices bring the F-Type into slightly more accessible territory, significantly undercutting rivals like the $90,395 Porsche 911 and even running into the territory of lower-priced sports cars like the $56,395 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

We assume that the rest of the Jaguar F-Type lineup, which also includes 380-hp S and 550-hp R models as well, will stay the same for 2017. The new entry-level models will go on sale starting in spring 2016, so keep an eye out for more news to come on any other updates for Jaguar’s sports car.
