To kick things off, the new Macan GTS sports a retuned ECU for its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6, which gives a 20 hp and 30 lb-ft boost in output over the base Macan S, for a total of 360 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through Porsche’s seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, allowing the spicier Macan to crack 60 mph in 4.8 seconds with the Sport Chrono package. Keep your foot to the firewall, and the GTS will reach 159 mph.
Up front, the 2017 Porsche Macan GTS adds larger 14.2-inch rotors from the Turbo model, with the rear discs remaining 13 inches in diamater. Air suspension and Porsche’s Active Suspension Management (PASM) comes standard, along with a 0.4-inch drop in ride height when compared with the Turbo.
In typical GTS fashion, the interior is blanketed in Alcantara suede surfaces, with contrasting seatbelts and stitching. In the center of the gauge cluster, the tachometer is bright red. Matte-black badging and trimming makes its way around the exterior, along with the standard 20-inch RS Spyder wheels.
The 2017 Porsche Macan GTS stickers in at $68,195 including destination, and will be available at dealers beginning in March of 2016. That puts it midway price-wise between the $53,595 Maca S and the $74,895 Turbo.
