Around back of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Extreme concept, a special Scattolini ScattoMaaz “Tipper Bed” creates what is probably the most intense and over-the-top pickup truck ever created. The bed itself is able to dump 5,200 pounds to either side or the rear of the vehicle. Total payload capacity weighs in at 6,400 pounds, with a towing capability up to 7,500 pounds.
Powering this behemoth is Mercedes’ tried-and-true Bluetec 2.1-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
To make sure this Sprinter won’t be confused with a run-of-the-mill dumptruck, Renntech adds a massive front brush guard with an extremely powerful winch that provides protection for the front grille. Up top, a custom-fabricated roof rack holds eight additional floodlights to turn night into day.
Six large G-Class-inspired wheels are surrounded by aggressive off-road tires that pair nicely with a sizeable suspension lift-kit. To ensure the wheels don’t bind or rub on anything, Renntech created custom deep-dish fenders. Of course, the truck wouldn’t be complete without eye-searing green paint and a vinyl wrap.
The Sprinter Extreme Concept makes its official debut that the 2016 Chicago auto show.
